BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 23-131 to Peerless Fence on June 20, 2023, with a completion date of December 31, 2023. The purpose of this contract is to complete the replacement of the existing fence as well as the pedestrian and vehicle entry gates located along the perimeter of Naper Settlement at Webster Street, Porter Avenue, and adjacent to Naperville Central High School and the south border of the campus.
Discussion:
This Change Order is requested to extend the project completion date. The installation of access controls is the only item outstanding and coordination issues between Peerless and its vendors resulted in delays that prevented the project from being completed before the end of the year.
This work is now expected to be completed by April 2, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:

The requested Change Order extends the completion date of this project but does not change the contract amount. However, the 2024 budget does not include funding for this work. Through December 31, 2023, a total of $455,123 has been paid on this project, leaving $26,489 to be paid in 2024. Staff will monitor spending on other capital projects within the fund in 2024. If this unexpected delay cannot be accommodated within the budget, an amendment to the 2024 budget may be necessary.
