BACKGROUND:
The City categorizes all vehicle ordinances within the right of way in Title 11 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) of the Municipal Code. Over the past year, the transportation team has begun reviewing the traffic schedules to ensure accuracy in the code and the field.
DISCUSSION:
The transportation team reviewed the Speed Limits (Sch. IV) traffic schedule within the code and made edits to ensure Naperville was compliant with existing field conditions. Majority of these modifications were related to data quality and consistency. Along with correcting the existing code, staff is adding several streets that were not in the code.
Updating this traffic schedule is essential to ensuring data quality within the Municipal Code and allowing the Police Department to enforce City ordinances. No speed limits were modified when updating this code.
