DISCUSSION:
The route for the Turkey Trot 5K is depicted on the attached map. The race route only will be No Parking/Tow Zone from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and will be posted accordingly. The route streets will be closed from approximately 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and will be opened to vehicular traffic as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it appropriate based on public safety.
The northbound lanes of West Street will be closed from 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. to allow the large number of participants to extend across northbound West Street. The course will then merge over into southbound West Street as the runners begin to spread out.
Staff will post informational signs along the race route beginning Thursday, November 21, 2019 and the organizer will distribute written notification to all residents and businesses along the route at least two weeks prior to the event.
The Naperville Noon Lions are requesting an amplifier permit beginning at 6:45 a.m. to make appropriate announcements and have met all City requirements.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Naperville Noon Lions Club has received $14,181 in SECA Grant funds for City services required for this event. Any City service costs in excess of the grant fund will be billed to the event organizer.
