BACKGROUND:
The petitioner, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, operates a school at 1500 W. Ogden Avenue. The petitioner's property currently has two access points to provide convenient access for pick-up and drop-off procedures - one direct access point is located on Ogden Avenue, and a second access point is provided from the adjacent property to the north with an address of 1492 W. Ogden.

The 1492 W Ogden Avenue property is being developed with The Flow car wash, resulting in the removal of Turning Pointe's second access point. While Turning Pointe has long term plans to develop the vacant land that will remain to the east of The Flow car wash at 1496 W Ogden Avenue, they seek approval of a temporary use for an access drive to be installed here to ensure two access points are maintained for pick-up and drop off procedures in the interim. The petitioner is requesting a temporary access drive be constructed and maintained on the vacant land located at 1496 W Ogden Avenue until August 20, 2029.


DISCUSSION:
The petitioner, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, is requesting approval of a temporary use for the proposed access drive for five years, until August 20, 2029. The temporary access drive consists of a "U" shaped loop road that will provide access for school buses to drop off and pick-up students.
