BACKGROUND:
Vehicles are scored for replacement based on four criteria: age, usage, condition and repair costs. Recommending a vehicle for replacement requires a score 28.0 or greater. Unit 719 scored 35.10 and was approved by the Fleet Economic Committee and Fleet Services Manager for replacement in the 2021 budget.
DISCUSSION:
The Water Utility maintains more than 735 miles of water main and 510 miles of gravity sewer and interceptors to deliver water and process wastewater for over 43,000 customers. Unit 719 is used daily by the Repair and Excavation Division of the Water Utility to transport the tools and equipment required to maintain and repair this infrastructure.
