BACKGROUND:
The Esprit de She Women's Triathlon, sponsored by Lifetime Fitness, is an annual event benefitting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The event will start and finish at Centennial Beach on Sunday, June 11, 2017 and include a .75k swim, 20k bike, and 5k run.

DISCUSSION:
The route and specific temporary traffic control information for the annual Esprit de She Triathlon is depicted on the attached map. An ordinance is required in order to tow vehicles parked on the race route. The race route only will be No Parking, Tow Zone from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) and will be posted accordingly. The race route streets will be closed beginning at approximately 6 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m. Streets will be opened to vehicular traffic and the No Parking, Tow Away signs removed as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it appropriate based on the public safety. Pease refer to the ordinance for the list of traffic controls related to the event.

Staff will post informational signs along the race route beginning Monday, June 5, 2017. Lifetime Fitness has been provided a mailing list of residents and businesses along the race route. The organizer is responsible for sending notification of the event no later than two weeks prior to the event.

The organizer is also working with the Naperville Park District and has secured the use of Centennial Beach for the swim portion of the race.
