BACKGROUND:

On April 2, 2025, the City Council awarded Contract 24-242, Centrifuge Control Panel Replacement Phase II and Polymer Feed System Replacement, to William T. Connelly, Inc, dba Connelly Electric Co., with an anticipated completion date of March 31, 2026. The project scope includes removal and installation of a new centrifuge control panel, the removal and installation of a new polymer feed system, and associated SCADA improvements. The work also involves installing associated electrical conduits, wires and concrete pads.

DISCUSSION:

Key staff vacancies at the Springbrook Water Reclamation Center (SWRC) do not allow the required shutdown for this project. The City has requested a contract time extension of 275 days.

This extension will allow the City time to fill the existing vacancies and provide sufficient time for the contractor to complete the construction work.

The revised project completion date will be December 31, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:

CIP #: WW044- SWRC Miscellaneous Process-related Replacements/Upgrades

The requested Change Order is for an extension of time only and does not increase the value of the contract.
