BACKGROUND:

The current Municipal Code makes it unlawful for any person to operate a bicycle in Naperville without having first registered the bicycle and securing a license. The license is valid for three years and the fee is $1.00.  

 

Following conversations with councilmembers, staff is recommending repealing registration and license requirements.

 

DISCUSSION:

Upon approval, Section 11-4-2: Registration and License Requirements will be omitted from the Municipal Code in its entirety. Further, associated registration and license language in other sections will also be deleted.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.
