title

Consider Club 59’s liquor license requests

body

DEPARTMENT:                     Legal Department

SUBMITTED BY:                     Jennifer Bonner, Senior Assistant City Attorney

BACKGROUND:

Club 59 will operate as a full-service restaurant with a customer bar while also hosting weddings, banquets, and private social events in the main ballroom, offering both regular dining service and event-based food and beverage service. Located at 808 S. Route 59, Suite 100, the business intends to continue the sale and service of alcoholic liquor in a manner consistent with the previous licensee’s operations. To determine the appropriate liquor license classification and ensure compliance with the City’s code, Club 59 will present an overview of its proposed alcoholic liquor service, including identification of the specific areas within the facility where alcohol sales and service will occur, the method of alcohol service in each of those areas, the proposed hours during which alcohol will be served, and the manner in which food service will be provided in event spaces outside the primary restaurant dining area. The previous licensee held a Class B Restaurant & Tavern License with a Late Night permit and a Class K Catering License.
