BACKGROUND:
Banners have consistently been included in the Naperville Riverwalk. As our consultant continues the design of the South Extension, they are identifying locations where banner poles could be installed. Over the last thirty years we have observed modifications and improvements to the banners and materials that have been used for the banners. Some of those banner modifications have not worked well with our original generation banner poles.
DISCUSSION:
Attached is a report from Tiffani Picco of the Naperville Park District discussing the evolution of the banners over the years and the conflicts they create with the original banner pole. We need to consider if we want to change our standard banner pole so that it works better with the current banners. If we decide to make a change, I suggest we try the new poles on the South Extension of the Riverwalk and assess how they work with today’s banners.
