BACKGROUND:
In April 2021, the Water Utilities issued RFQ 21-163 for a consulting firm to provide technical assistance and engineering design for a number of structural engineering repairs at Springbrook Water Reclamation Center.
In August 2021, the Water Utilities issued Bid 21-275, Springbrook Water Reclamation Center 2021 Structural Repairs. The scope of this project includes constructing a new biosolids conveyor support structure, foundations, and pushwall; demolishing the existing conveyor supports and restoring the concrete paving; sealing of two existing knockout panels on the aeration tanks and repair of aeration tank expansion joint.
An additive alternate is included for the demolition and replacement of the concrete walkway at the aeration tanks and will be included in the total award due to favorable pricing received for the alternate.

Water Utilities has not worked with this contractor in the past. Results of the reference were satisfactory; and the vendor is registered and in good standing with the Illinois Secretary of State.
The contract completion date for this project is December 31, 2021.
