BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Bid 22-310 to Filotto Roofing Inc. for the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion and Covered Bridge Roof Replacements on December 6, 2022, for an amount not to exceed $133,500 plus a 5% contingency and a completion date of April 29, 2023.
Filotto Roofing completed both roofs before the April 29, 2023 deadline, however, the shingles on the Grand Pavilion were distinctively different shades of black. The supplier agreed to provide Filotto Roofing Inc. with new shingles and would reimburse the City directly for the cost of the additional labor.
Change Order #1 was approved by the City Council on June 6, 2023, adding $28,350 for the additional labor and extending the project completion date by 90 days to July 28, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
After the award of the Change Order, the Park District requested the contractor delay replacing the roof at the Grand Pavilion until after their busy season so that the contractor would not interfere with the many events that are held there during the summer and fall. City staff did not object and the contractor complied with this request.
This Change Order does not increase the value of the contract, but rather adds 259 days for a new completion date of April 12, 2024, when the correctional work was completed.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this Change Order.
