DEPARTMENT:                     Water Utilities

SUBMITTED BY:                     Darrell Blenniss, Director

BACKGROUND:

The City Council awarded contract 23-269 to Core & Main LP on September 19, 2023, to migrate the licensed Regional Network Interface (RNI) system from on-premises servers maintained by Electric staff to a Software as a Service (SaaS) model maintained by Sensus.

Core & Main LP, an authorized distributor for Sensus USA, Inc., facilitates the integration of Sensus software with the City’s IT systems. Additionally, Core & Main LP supplies equipment and infrastructure to enable the wireless transmission of water meter readings.

The City also approved Change Order #1 on September 3, 2024, which granted additional funds and a 60-day time extension.

Change Order #1 was approved on September 3, 2024, which granted additional funds and a 60-day time extension.

DISCUSSION:

Due to unforeseen delays, Change Order #2 is required to complete the delayed migration from the on-premises server. The delays are attributed to resource incompatibilities impacting the migration process. This extension will also provide the City with additional time for thorough testing and final acceptance.

The revised contract completion date will be April 29, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

CIP #: WU020

The requested change order is a time extension only. There is no direct fiscal impact as the value of the contract does not increase from the prior change order.
