BOARD/COMMISSION REVIEW:
On November 7, 2024, the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) tabled staff's initial recommendation. Staff brought the item back, with modifications, to the February 6, 2025 TAB meeting and received approval (8-0) to remove the four-hour parking restriction on the east side of the street and establish a "No Parking" zone 60' north of the centerline of Plank Rd. to a point 37' north of the centerline of Bellingrath Ct. from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.

BACKGROUND:
In 1989, Section VIIA of an ordinance was approved to establish both sides of Monticello Dr., from Plank Rd. to Bellingrath Ct., as Limited Parking-Hours due to resident complaints of commuters parking on subject sections of Monticello Dr. The subject section of Monticello Dr. abuts and is adjacent to the Columbia Estates Park where soccer practice is held Monday through Thursday during the evening hours.

In September 2024, staff received a complaint about vehicles parking on both sides of the street which caused congestion by narrowing the travel width of the street.

At the November 2024 TAB meeting, staff recommended removing both the east and west side from Section VIIA, Four-Hour Limited Parking and adding to Section VIA, No Parking Zones. Residents attended the meeting to express their concerns regarding the recommended restriction. TAB tabled the item, allowing staff to look at other options.

DISCUSSION:
