BACKGROUND:

On October 17, 2023, the City Council approved the Calendar Year 2024 SECA Grant Fund Program City Obligation allocations in the amount of $1,198,416 (attached). This approval included $175,000 for Naperville Development Partnership’s promotional activities including the printing of the Dining Guide and other marketing efforts.

DISCUSSION:

Naperville Development Partnership requested $185,000 during the City budget approval process and did not revise their SECA request. Due to this misalignment between the SECA City Obligation allocation and the budget approval, an additional $10,000 is requested to be added to Naperville Development Partnership’s City Obligation allocation. Naperville Development Partnership has not requested an increase to their allocation since 2017.

The SECA Grant Fund Program can accommodate this revision without impacting other award allocations.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$10,000 will be added to the City Obligation total for Naperville Development Partnership increasing their allocation to $185,000 and the total 2024 City Obligations to $1,208,416.
