Objectives:
The Naperville Sister City Commission aims to promote understanding and foster enduring friendships between the residents of Naperville and the outside world especially with its sister cities: Nitra, Slovakia; P?tzcuaro, Mexico; and Cancun, Mexico.
Primary objectives of the commission are:
1. Primary Contact Points: The Commission will serve as the main liaison between Naperville and its sister cities, facilitating communication and collaboration.
2. Educational, Business and Cultural Exchanges: The Commission will create strategic opportunities for educational, artistic, and business partnerships with sister cities. These initiatives will encourage exchanges that enrich the community and foster a deeper understanding of different cultures.
3. Community Engagement: To raise awareness of the Sister Cities program, the Commission will work with local agencies and organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, schools, churches, and arts organizations. This collaborative effort will promote educational programs, business opportunities and cultural events that will leverage the relationships built by the Naperville Sister Cities Commission.
4. Formal Communications: As a City Commission, all formal communications, such as press releases, invitations to formal events and social media updates, will be managed by the City to ensure consistent messaging and representation.
Structure of the Sister City Commission:
