BACKGROUND:
The City Council passed Ordinance 23-115 on August 15, 2023 granting the following variances for three ground signs on the property located at 740-944 S IL Route 59:

* Variances from Section 6-16-5:2.2 (Ground Signs) of the Naperville Municipal Code to allow three ground signs, known as Signs A, B, and C, to each measure approximately 194.19 square feet in size.
* Variances from Section 6-16-5:2.2 (Ground Signs) of the Naperville Municipal Code to allow three ground signs A, B, and C, to each measure 24 feet 8 inches in height.
* A variance from Section 6-16-5:2.2.3 (Ground Signs) of the Naperville Municipal Code to allow a changeable sign to measure 36.44 square feet on Sign A.
* A variance from Section 6-16-5:2.2.1 (Ground Signs) of the Naperville Municipal Code to allow the distance between two ground signs on the Subject Property's Route 59 frontage to be 177 feet.
* A variance from Section 6-16-5:2.2.1 (Ground Signs) of the Naperville Municipal Code to allow three (3) ground signs on the Subject Property's Route 59 frontage.

The ordinance granted has an effective period of two years with the effective period ending on August 15, 2025.

DISCUSSION:
The petitioner states they are actively marketing the property and engaging with prospective tenants but require additional time to finalize leasing arrangements and submit sign permit applications that reflect tenant-specific requirements. Therefore, the petitioner requests a one-year extension of the effective period of the approved ordinance.
