BACKGROUND:
North Central College Riverwalk Park
At the May 19th meeting, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the NCC Riverwalk Park to Baumgartner Construction, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $2,049,192.32. Construction on the site commenced on Wednesday, May 27th. The contract completion date is October 30, 2026.
Riverwalk Brick Maintenance
Brick pavers in various areas of the Riverwalk path need maintenance. At the October 6th City Council meeting, a contract to reset brick pavers on the Riverwalk as well as the downtown area was awarded.
DISCUSSION:
Work at the NCC Riverwalk Park continues to focus on the landscaping, lighting, and miscellaneous details. See attached photos.
The brick paver maintenance work is expected to be completed by November 19, 2026. Locations include large sections of the Riverwalk path near Jefferson Avenue and the Horse Trough Fountain.
