BOARD/COMMISSION REVIEW:

BACKGROUND:

The subject property is located on the south side of Oswego Road with a common address of 1224 Oswego Road.  The owners and petitioners, Jeff Gross and Wendy Hayum-Gross, are proposing to build a new single-family residence on the subject property.  In order to provide sanitary service for the future residence, the petitioners plan to extend the sanitary main on Oswego Road to the subject property.  Since the new sanitary main will extend across property not owned by the petitioners, the City has agreed to share in the cost of the sanitary main extension.

DISCUSSION:

As noted above, the petitioners plan to extend the existing sanitary main located at the southeast corner of Oswego Road and Thornapple Drive to the subject property.  Approximately 668’ of 8” sanitary main will be constructed along Oswego Road and 68’ of 6” sanitary main will be constructed from the sanitary main extension to provide a future sanitary service connection to the subject property.

Per the attached cost sharing agreement, the City will reimburse the petitioners for the cost of construction of the off-site sanitary main in an amount not to exceed $119,301, plus an amount not to exceed $14,319.45 for the engineering costs related to the off-site sanitary main. The petitioners are subject to all requirements of Section 7-3-6:2 (Subdivision Regulations: Required Improvements: Contract Participation over Fifty Thousand Dollars) of the Naperville Municipal Code.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$133,620.45 in reimbursements for the new sanitary main.
