BACKGROUND:
On December 1, 2022, the City Manager awarded Contract 22-114-1, Water/Wastewater Facility Electrical Technical Assistance, to Ciorba Group, Inc. with an anticipated completion date of December 31, 2024. The purpose of this contract is for Ciorba Group to provide as-needed technical assistance for electrical design of water supply and sanitary lift station projects.
DISCUSSION:
There is a new task request under this contract for Ciorba Group to evaluate the aging fleet of emergency standby generators used at the water supply and wastewater pumping sites. Ciorba Group will determine the correct size of generator needed to run these assets, the correct fuel type and fuel tank, the generator location at each site, the correct Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and the need for any Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS).
This change order is requested to extend the contract for 365 days. The change order is necessary to provide the contractor with sufficient time to complete the work and allow the City’s review and acceptance.
The revised completion date will be December 31, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
CIP: Various
The requested change order is for an extension of time and does not increase the value of the contract. Any excess in 2025 is anticipated to be minimal and accommodated within the respective CIP budget.
