BACKGROUND:

In 1995, the Naperville Fire Department entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (“Illinois Tollway”) and adopted Resolution No. 5458 to provide fire protection and emergency medical services on the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88); specifically, between milepost 123.1 and milepost 127.9 in the Eastbound direction and milepost 126.9 and milepost 121.6 in the Westbound direction.

The Agreement outlines a schedule of services as well as materials for which the Naperville Fire Department may seek reimbursement.

DISCUSSION:

Recently, the Illinois Tollway approved updates to billing policies and the scheduled reimbursement rate. Via Resolution No. 9589, municipal fire departments may now bill patrons, their insurance companies, and the Illinois Tollway for services provided at a rate of $500.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Estimated $18,000 annual revenue.
