BACKGROUND:
In October 2024, the Information Technology (IT) Department issued Bid 24-160, On-Call Cable and Wiring Services, to secure a vendor to perform cabling and wiring jobs in support of IT networks and systems at various municipal buildings. The City's needs for cable and wiring projects include computer networking, telephony, and other low-voltage technologies.

Every year the City requires a cable and wiring vendor to address a wide range of projects ranging from a few simple networking drops or telephone moves to extensive projects for office remodeling and deployment of new technologies.

These jobs vary in size and complexity, and the associated cost can range from several hundred to several thousands of dollars. These jobs require specialized skills, tools, and capabilities that are more efficient to outsource than to staff and equip in-house.
