BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works - Fleet Services Division is responsible for providing safe and reliable fuel distribution for the City's fleet of vehicles and generators. This includes maintenance, repair and regulatory compliance of the City's fuel sites and underground fuel storage tanks. Per the Office of the State Fire Marshal regulations, certified contractors must complete most of the inspections, repairs, and related compliance reporting. Staff relies on outside contractors as required for these services.
In June 2023, the Department of Public Works issued Bid 23-158, Fuel Site and Storage Tank Inspections and Repairs to secure a vendor for these services.

Staff is confident Crowne Industries, Ltd. can safely and effectively fulfill the contract requirements. Crowne Industries is the incumbent awardee of this contract and has provided inspection services in a timely manner to maintain compliance. Crowne Industries has worked with quickly staff to resolve service issues on the few occasions they've occurred.
Staff recommends awarding the contract for fuel site and storage tank inspections and repairs to Crowne Industries.
The term of this contract is 1-year from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 with five 1-year options to extend.
