BOARD/COMMISSION REVIEW:
N/A

BACKGROUND:

From a rate and reliability perspective, the city has historically compared itself to ComEd. Naperville’s rates have a customer charge, an energy charge and demand charge to recover all its costs. ComEd rates include a customer charge, electricity supply charge (including energy, capacity, and transmission) and delivery service charges.

DISCUSSION:

As part of the information gathering process, DPUE reached out to Chris Townsend, Energy Law Partner at CJT Energy Law, LLC, and Mark Pruitt, Principal at The Power Bureau. A completed comparison of NED’s residential and commercial rates with ComEd’s historical and most current rates. This comparison is with base rates only and does not include taxes, monthly ComEd Purchased Electricity Adjustment (PEA) or Naperville monthly Purchased Power Adjustment (PPA). Also included is the City of Naperville Power Marketer Feasibility Report.  A copy of the presentations are attached.
