BACKGROUND:

In 2012, the Downtown Naperville Alliance (DNA) began the annual holiday sculpture program. The program allowed local organizations an opportunity to sponsor and decorate sculptures that were featured throughout the holiday season in the downtown. After several years of holiday-themed displays, the DNA found options were limited and transitioned to a summer sculpture program in 2015.

DISCUSSION:

The DNA is requesting a 2019 display schedule from June to mid-September. The theme for this year will be dogs, symbolizing the dog days of summer. Photographs and dimensions of the three different sculpture models are attached for your reference. The City has reviewed sculpture dimensions and impact on sidewalks and recommends the sculpture program as presented. A map depicting the proposed locations is also provided for your review.
