BOARD/COMMISSION REVIEW:
The Riverwalk Commission last discussed the proposed Nichols Library Parking Deck project at the August 13, 2025, meeting.
BACKGROUND:
Consideration of a parking deck adjacent to the Nichols Library has been a component of the City’s downtown parking strategy for the past several decades. In 2008, construction drawings for a parking deck at this location were completed and ready to bid. However, the project was paused due to the economic recession that occurred at that time.
The City’s budget includes funding for an update of the parking deck drawings in 2027 with construction to follow in future years.
DISCUSSION:
Katie Wood, Executive Director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance, will discuss the history, growth, and future of parking in the downtown area. A copy of the parking presentation is attached.
