BACKGROUND:

At the December 7, 2021 meeting, City Council approved the award of Bid 21-233, Springbrook Water Reclamation Center Influent Flow Meter Replacement, to Dahme Mechanical Industries for an amount not to exceed $158,888.88 and a 5% contingency. The work includes the replacement of three existing influent flow meters at the Springbrook Water Reclamation Center. The original contract completion date was June 1, 2022.

At the May 3, 2022 meeting, City Council approved Change Order #1 to extend the contract completion date by 184 days due to persistent global supply chain issues.  The revised contract completion date of the project was December 1, 2022.

DISCUSSION:

Supply chain issues are continuing and the contractor has been informed of another delay in shipping of the flow meters.  The ship date of the flow meters has been pushed back several times during the course of the year and is currently November 30, 2022. The contractor is requesting a time extension of 181 days, for a new contract completion date of June 1, 2023.

Staff will work with the vendor to expedite the completion of the project once the equipment is received.

FISCAL IMPACT:

CIP:  WW041

The requested change order adds 181 days to the contract but does not change the cost of the project.  There is no direct fiscal impact resulting from this change.
