BACKGROUND:
On June 18, 2024, the City Council approved the 2024-2026 Priorities Plan which outlined the five priority areas below for the City to focus on over the next three to five years.

1. Utilities
2. Safety
3. Economy
4. Mobility
5. Natural Environment/Community Design

These areas and the associated goals were determined through the statistically significant community survey completed in 2023 and input from City leadership.

For each year of the plan, staff will provide formal updates to the City Council in May and October.

DISCUSSION:
To provide the appropriate level of detail for each priority, staff will present on activities and goals of the Utilities and Natural Environment/Community Design priorities at the October 15 City Council meeting. The focus of the May 2025 presentation will be on Safety, Economy and Mobility but a brief update on these priorities is shown in the table below.

* The City has engaged with DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference and our legislators on transit reform, including hosting the Senate Transportation Committee meeting for DuPage County in August.
* The City's consultant for the Road Improvement Plan is collecting the extensive data required to establish the baseline performance of the roadway network. Initial Transportation Advisory Board and public engagement will take place in the first quarter of 2025.
* Consultant selection for the update to Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan will take place during the last quarter of 2024 and first quarter of 2025.
