BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded contract 23-269 to Core & Main LP on September 19, 2023, to migrate the licensed Regional Network Interface (RNI) system from on-premises servers maintained by Electric staff to a Software as a Service (SaaS) model maintained by Sensus.
Core & Main LP, an authorized distributor of Sensus USA, Inc., provides for the integration of Sensus software with the City's various IT systems and the purchase of equipment and infrastructure that allows for the wireless transmission of water reads.
DISCUSSION:
The migration to the SaaS environment and integrations between the SaaS and City software have been completed. The initial scope of work included the migration of 60 days' worth of historical read data from the licensed RNI to the SaaS environment as typically RNIs only hold 60 days' worth of data. During the development phase it was determined that the licensed RNI contained over two years' worth of historical read data.
A Change Order is requested to migrate the additional data into the SaaS environment which will allow the Utility to analyze consumption patterns, provide robust historical usage data for future rate studies, assist with reducing non-revenue water loss, and provide better insight into the distribution system to understand customer and community needs.
The amount of this Change Order exceeds the original contract amount by $7,950 and increases the original contract expiration date by 60 days.
The revised completion date will be December 30, 2024.
