BACKGROUND:
Sponsored by Indian Community Outreach, the Annual India Day Parade will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

DISCUSSION:
As with all events, the priority of the Special Events Team is to minimize impact on residents, businesses, churches, and traffic flow in the area. The organizers partnered with the City, the Naperville Park District, and the Downtown Naperville Alliance (DNA) to develop the parade route.

The parade will kick off at 11:00 a.m. from Naperville North High School and proceed south on Mill Street. As shown on the attached Traffic Control Plan, the floats will exit the route west on Jefferson Avenue and all other entries will end on Jackson Avenue.

New This Year:
In June, the event organizer decided to cancel the celebration component on Rotary Hill.

Accessibility Plan:
The City's accessibility plan has been discussed with the organizers and ADA viewing areas will be available on the parade route.

Parking and Traffic:
An ordinance is required to close streets and tow vehicles parked on the parade route. The parade route and streets affected by the route will be designated No Parking/Tow Away from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The parade route streets will be closed at 7:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m.

The streets of the parade route and residential streets will re-open to vehicular traffic and parking restriction signs will be removed as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it appropriate based on public safety. Staff will post informational signs one week prior to the event and traffic control information will be available on the City's website.
