BACKGROUND:
St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will host their inaugural Truck-or-Treat event for children and an Oktoberfest for parishioners and families on Friday, October 27, 2017. The Trunk-or-Treat event will take place from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. in the parking lot across from the church.
DISCUSSION:
Event participants are invited to decorate their vehicles and the children will collect treats from each car. Prizes will be awarded. Following the children’s event the parish will host a German Festival with food, drinks, and live German music.
The event organizer will use the church’s barricades and, based on expected attendance, an officer is not required to be present.
The street closures for both events are depicted on the attached map. An Ordinance is required to amend the Naperville Traffic Schedule beginning at 3:30 p.m. The event streets will be reopened to vehicular traffic at approximately 6:30 p.m. or as determined by the Naperville Police Department based on public safety.
All insurance requirements will be fulfilled prior to the issuance of a Special Event Permit.
