HUMAN RIGHTS AND FAIR HOUSING COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM

ACTION REQUESTED:
title

Receive an update on the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing

body

DEPARTMENT:                     City Manager’s Office

SUBMITTED BY:                     Geneace Williams, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager

Miranda Barfuss, Community Grants Coordinator, will provide an update on the termination of the federal Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule. The rule formerly impacted requirements of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and required the completion of a formal Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. With the termination of the rule, the Analysis of Impediments is no longer required. A locality’s certification that it has affirmatively furthered fair housing under the Fair Housing Act will be deemed sufficient.
