BACKGROUND:

Four projects on or adjacent to the Riverwalk are currently in progress:

•                     Eagle Street Gateway

•                     Fredenhagen Park Fountain Repairs

•                     Fredenhagen Park Miscellaneous Repairs

•                     Washington Street Bridge

 

A status update for each project is provided below.

 

DISCUSSION:

 

Eagle Street Gateway

Construction continues on the Eagle Street Gateway project.  A portion of the low flow walk was recently poured (see photo below) in addition to various retaining walls and foundations.  Completion may shift from mid-September to October based on the most recent discussions with the Contractor.

 

 

Fredenhagen Park Fountain Repairs

The repair of the Fredenhagen Park Fountain has been delayed by various unexpected conditions including several leaks in the plumbing system, deficient electrical components, and maintenance issues with the chlorination system.  An authorization to address these issues is under review.

 

Fredenhagen Park Miscellaneous Repairs

The Naperville Park District is requesting quotes to clean and refinish various elements within Fredenhagen Park.  Quotes are due by July 3rd.

 

Washington Street Bridge

The Washington Street Bridge project is nearly complete.  The new low flow walk under the bridge terminates on the east side of the structure.  The low flow walk on the east side of the bridge will be continued with the coming 430 S. Washington project.
