BACKGROUND:

Marquette Properties and Water Street property owners support the 2026 Naperville Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The event purpose is to raise awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s health issues.

DISCUSSION:

The public will be able to gain access to Water Street and the Riverwalk, as well as individual businesses, from the Riverwalk side of Water Street.

Specific temporary traffic control information for the Naperville Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is depicted on the attached map and ordinance. The event streets will be closed beginning at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026 and will open to vehicular traffic with the removal of the No Parking/Tow Zone signs at approximately 12:30 p.m., or as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it appropriate based on public safety.

Motorcycles will be placed on both sides of Water Street but will allow enough space for emergency vehicles to access the area if necessary. Vendor booths will be placed in the Naperville Township lot.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The organizer has been awarded a total of $5,600 in SECA Grant funding for City Services ($2,400) and Operations ($3,200). City Services costs in excess of the grant will be billed to the organizer.
