a. Launching a student exchange program (beginning with a virtual format)
b. Potential business fair concept
Proposed Process for new Sister Cities Commission initiatives:
Chairman Mani proposes the following process for consideration of new Sister Cities initiatives:
• Initial proposal by a Commissioner to the Sister Cities Commission including
o Scope
o Schedule
o Cost
o General roles and responsibilities
o Alignment with the mission of the Sister Cities Commission
o How current Sister Cities will be involved
• After review and approval of the initial concept by the Sister Cities Commission, a detailed proposal and funding request will be submitted to Foundation. Commissioners are encouraged to work with an additional commissioner on initiatives.
• The detailed proposal will include
o Detailed scope
o Budget
o Roles and responsibilities of Sister Cities Commission
o Roles and responsibilities of Sister Cities Foundation
o Engagement with current Sister Cities
o Schedules
o Dependencies (funding, partnerships, agreements, approvals, etc.)
• After review and approval or denial by the Foundation, the Commissioner presents the revised proposal to the Sister Cities Commission for approval.
