BACKGROUND:
On September 6, 2022, the City Council approved Bid 22-180, Southwest Wastewater Pump Station, to Integral Construction, Inc for an amount not to exceed $1,322,000, plus a 3% contingency. The work includes replacing the existing three submersible pumps, pump variable frequency drives (VFDs), and piping. The project also includes installing two new mixers, mixer VFDs, upgrading the existing SCADA, and installation of associated conduits and wires. The original contract completion date was July 1, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
As a result of an unforeseen delay in the supply chain for the VFD deliveries, the contractor has submitted a request for a time extension of 90 days. Consequently, the revised project completion date will be October 29, 2023. This change order is necessary to provide the contractor with sufficient time to acquire the necessary VFDs, complete the installation and testing, and allow for the City’s final acceptance.
