BACKGROUND:

Data availability and storage are critical to all business units across the organization. IT continues to see an increasing demand for the availability, use, and storage of larger files such as videos. The necessity of responsible file backup and retention practices also dramatically increases the amount of storage required. Public Safety’s Tyler CAD/RMS system that was brought online in December 2024 is currently in need of additional storage to support the growing data within this system.

DISCUSSION:

This procurement addresses data availability and storage needs for Public Safety’s CAD/RMS system with the purchase of NetApp equipment that will expand storage capacity and also provide room for growth to support future demands.

This procurement includes:

                     Rack shelves - 2

                     Drive packs - 2 x 3 Drive Sets

                     Associated connection and installation hardware

OnTap One software to support the storage solution

Technical support under NetApp’s SupportEdge Advisor

Staff has identified an approved cooperative contract, 230105 - TIPS, through Xerox IT Solutions for this procurement.
