BACKGROUND:
The Department of Public Works and the Fleet Services Division recommends the purchase of five Ford F250 Pickup Trucks approved for replacement in the CY2017 budget.
Five Public Works vehicles were reviewed and approved for replacement by the Fleet Economic Committee and Fleet Services Manager. Vehicles are evaluated for replacement based on four criteria: age, usage, condition and repair costs. A vehicle must receive a score of 23.0 or greater to be recommended for replacement. Each vehicle qualified for replacement.

DISCUSSION:
Unit 215 is a 2006 Ford F250 and Unit 258 is a 2005 Ford F250 that will be replaced with two 2017 Ford F250 pickup trucks equipped with four-wheel drive and plows. Additionally, Unit 258 will be equipped with a lift gate. Both units are use in the Streets Section for pothole patching, alley reconstruction, bridge maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, sidewalk ramps and snow plowing.
Unit 254 is a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 pickup that will be replaced with a 2017 Ford F250 with a lift gate. The truck is use by the Forestry Section for tree trimming and removal, stump grinding, parkway restoration, Emerald Ash Borer treatments, leaf collection, service requests and snow plowing.
