BACKGROUND:
The Riverwalk 2031 Master Plan includes a project to improve the Grand Pavilion. A rendering from the plan document is attached.
The Naperville Park District is responsible for scheduling rental of the Grand Pavilion facility between March and November. In 2024, the Pavilion hosted 121 events by approximately 44 organizations for larger events (Charity Walks, etc.), 27 individuals for smaller family events (birthdays, weddings), as well as various community events such the Last Fling.
DISCUSSION:
The scope of the Grand Pavilion project is not well defined. Staff recommends seeking community input regarding potential improvements to the site. A short survey directed to the public and past renters to determine enhancements would provide a better experience.
If approved, City and Park District staff will prepare a list of draft survey questions for the Committee’s review at a future meeting.
