BACKGROUND:
The Information Technology Department has been executing a capital project to invest in network segmentation over the last two years. Network segmentation is comprised of networking hardware with specific features and capabilities, specific network design practices, and specific ways of operating. Combined, these all enable network segmentation, which provides significant benefits in optimizing network performance and in reducing cybersecurity risk.
Cooperative Procurement 24-268, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, was awarded by the City Council on November 5, 2024, for $297,588.22.
DISCUSSION:
Previously purchased switches being deployed at the Municipal Center require network expansion modules to achieve full interconnection and improve performance.
This Change Order is requested to award an additional $28,488.60 to procure 20 expansion modules for the network switches deployed at the Municipal Center. These modules were intended to be included in the original purchase of 24-268 but inadvertently omitted from the quote.
These modules will be purchased under the same cooperative used for 24-268, OMNIA Partners, (TDSynnex) #OMNIA-R200803, through Sentinel Technologies, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT:
CIP#: CE168 - Network Segmentation Enhancement
The requested award will be charged to the account number listed below. The 2025 Budget includes $600,000 for the completion of this project. The requested change order can be accommodated within the budget.
