BACKGROUND:
In support of the City's priority to provide utility services that are reliable and safe, in November 2025, the Water Utilities issued Bid 25-254, 2025 Saybrook Phase III Water Main Improvements. The project includes the replacement of the water main on the following streets in the Saybrook subdivision: 12th Avenue, Trefoil Court, Suffolk Street, Barley Avenue, Millet Street, Brainard Street, Loomis Street, Blue Grass Court, Sleight Street, Wright Street, and Case Street.
The purpose of the project is to replace aging and deficient water main on these streets. The existing four-inch and six-inch cast iron water main was installed in the 1960's and will be replaced and upsized to eight-inch ductile iron pipe in accordance with City standards.
