body
DEPARTMENT: Department of Public Works

BACKGROUND:
The DuPage County Division of Transportation has again requested that the City provide mowing and herbicide services on 75th Street, both rights-of-way and the medians, from Modaff Road to Palomino Drive. The City has provided this service for more than 15 years.
DISCUSSION:
The attached agreement provides that the County would increase the reimbursement to the City from $50 to $51.50 per acre per mowing to cover the mowing and herbicide expenses for the next four mowing seasons. In the past agreement, the County would reimburse for mowing services for up to 20 mowing cycles. Beginning with this agreement, the maximum number of mowing cycles has been increased to 23. The City’s mowing and herbicide contract unit price for this area (35.03 acres) is less than $51.50 per acre. As such, staff anticipates being able to provide this service within the reimbursement level provided by the County.
The attached agreement will provide DuPage County funding for the mowing and herbicide services through November 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City will receive up to $41,493.15 in reimbursement for mowing and herbicide services on 75th street from Modaff Road to Palomino Drive.
