BACKGROUND:
Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the Last Fling is scheduled for August 30 - September 2, 2019 and will take place on Rotary Hill and Jackson Avenue. The Labor Day Parade and Fling Mile will be held on Monday, September 2. The entire event features live entertainment, food vendors, and a carnival.
DISCUSSION:
Event representative from the Naperville Jaycees have been meeting monthly with the Special Events Team, including representatives from the Park District, Edward Hospital and the Downtown Naperville Alliance, to coordinate event logistics.
For the first time in the history of the event, the event organizers will install a chain link fence on Jackson Avenue from Main Street to Eagle Street. The carnival area will be outside of the fence. A $10 entry fee per attendee will be charged which will permit access to the main stage on Rotary Hill and all the activities on Jackson Avenue.
Road closures, detours, and temporary No Parking/Tow Zones for the entire event are shown on the attached maps. Specific traffic control details are shown in the ordinance.

Following are the dates and hours for the 2019 Last Fling:
Friday, August 30, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Saturday, August 31, 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Sunday, September 1, 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Monday, September 2, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
