BACKGROUND:

In 2022, Water Utilities completed a Request for Qualifications (RFQ 22-109) for consulting engineering services at SWRC. The following four consultants were short listed for a three-year term as a result of this process:

1. Black & Veatch

2. Carollo Engineers

3. CDM Smith

4. Donohue & Associates

The City of Naperville recently completed a Facilities Plan for Springbrook Water Reclamation Center (SWRC).  The Facilities Plan identified a long-term plan for improvements to SWRC to comply with the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit and anticipated future regulations, particularly related to nutrient removal.

In June 2022, the Water Utilities issued RFP 22-212, Springbrook Water Reclamation Center Influent Pump Station and South Plant Forcemain Improvements project, to select one of the shortlisted consultants for this project.  This project involves engineering design for replacement of obsolete pumps with diminished capacity that are unable to be repaired.  In addition, this project will configure the influent pump station for a future 50/50 flow split between the North and South plants, as well as design a forcemain to convey additional flow to the South plant.
