BACKGROUND:
In 2017, the City of Naperville completed a Request for Qualifications (RFQ 17-133) to shortlist engineering firms to perform land surveying services on an as-needed basis for a variety of City projects.
Staff solicited quotes from shortlisted firms to perform a topographic survey of several blocks in the Park Addition subdivision. The survey will be used by City staff to design and construct a water main replacement project for spring/summer of 2022. The Park Addition project will replace and upsize aging and deficient water main. The following streets will be surveyed:
• Brainard Street - 5th Avenue to Ogden Avenue
• Center Street - 5th Avenue to 8th Avenue
• Ellsworth Street - 5th Avenue to Ogden Avenue
• 5th Avenue - Brainard Street to Loomis Street
• Loomis Street - 5th Avenue to Ogden Avenue
• Ogden Avenue - Washington Alley to Loomis Street
As budget permits, the streets will be included in the 2022 replacement project.

Per the RFQ document, vendors will be selected based upon qualifications and/or costs depending upon the complexity of the projects. In addition, the City retains the right to use the services of a successful vendor for future phases of a specific project.

Land surveying is associated with WU004, which was budgeted for $3,850,000 in 2021. The requested award is within budget.
