BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 23-027 to Midwest Power Industry on March 7, 2023, for a two-year term from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2025, with four one-year options to extend.
The purpose of this contract is to retain contractor maintenance and repair services for the City’s emergency generators, electrical transfer switchgear and other support power systems.
DISCUSSION:
During the original term of the contract, Midwest Power Industry coordinated with staff to complete preventive maintenance (PM) services as required for the City’s 46 generators. Working with multiple divisions across two City departments, the vendor has completed more than 180 PM services and repairs over the current contract term. Midwest Power Industry responds timely to repair requests and follows site security protocols at each location.
Based on the vendor’s performance, the Department of Public Works recommends extending the contract for the first Option Year. Midwest Power Industry has agreed to maintain the rates and terms provided for under the contract.
The term of the first Option Year is from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, with three one-year options remaining.
