BACKGROUND:

Units listed below were reviewed and approved by the Fleet Economic Committee and Fleet Services Manager for replacement in the FY2024 budget. Vehicles are scored for replacement based on four criteria: age, usage, condition and repair costs. Recommending a vehicle for replacement requires a score 23.0 or greater.

DISCUSSION:

The units listed above in the background are used daily by the Police Department for routine patrol and emergency response throughout the City. The retired vehicles will be sold through one of the City’s auction companies.  

 

The units will be replaced with 2024 Ford Police Responder F150 PPV pickup trucks specified identically to maintain fleet and operational conformity. The new vehicles are available on the Sourcewell Cooperative, an approved cooperative through National Auto Fleet Group, Contract #091521-NAF. The Cooperative has an expiration date of 11/8/2025. 

 

Using the City’s specifications, National Auto Fleet Group has quoted the 2024 Ford Police Responder F150 PPV pickup truck in the amount of $54,511.88 per unit (totaling $324,271.28 for 6 units); a cost breakdown is provided below.

The vehicle will be delivered in approximately nine months, by December 31, 2024. Term is from date of award through December 31, 2024.

Vehicle replacements for the Police Department are funded from the account below. The Police Department allocated $418,000 to replace the listed Police Patrol Vehicles in the CY2024 budget. The requested award is within the amount budgeted for this request.
