BACKGROUND:
The street and parkway of Briergate Drive, from Bauer Road to Cherry Hills Lane, are drained by a network of storm sewers, inlets, and catch basins. Due to deteriorating and undersized storm sewers, street flooding periodically occurs near the intersection of Briergate Drive and Bauer Road during intense rainfall events. Some of the storm sewer that was installed in Cress Creek is corrugated metal pipe, which has a much shorter service life than the reinforced concrete pipe is used in most locations throughout the city. The Department of Public Works (DPW) is recommending improving these storm sewers with new and larger pipes to eliminate street flooding and repeated maintenance.
In April 2021, DPW issued Bid 21-135, Briergate Drive Storm Sewer Improvements, to vendors to perform the storm sewer installation along Briergate Drive.
