DEPARTMENT:                      Water Utilities

SUBMITTED BY:                     Darrell Blenniss, Director

BACKGROUND:

In February 2023, Water Utilities issued Work Order 18-032-WATER-23-02 seeking to retain the services of a qualified and experienced consultant to perform a Space Needs Assessment for the City’s water and wastewater utility.  Work Order 18-032-WATER-23-02 was issued to the consultants on the Department of Public Works’ Architectural and Engineering Services Shortlist (details below).

The goal of the assessment is to identify options for the improved use of Water Utilities’ buildings, including but not limited to, existing facility maximization, expansion of existing facilities or creation of a single facility to house the entirety of the department. The proposal will also include a long-range space needs plan that will ensure future growth in the department is accommodated.

In 2018, the Department of Public Works completed a Request for Qualifications (RFQ 18-027) for architectural and engineering services. Two consultants were short-listed as a result of this process.  The initial term of the contract was two years and may be extended up to a total term of six years. The consultants are:

                     Kluber Inc.

Legat Architects
