BACKGROUND:
The City Information Technology Department (IT) has utilized both the BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access (PRA) solution and its sister product, BeyondTrust Remote Support (previously known as Bomgar) for many years. These solutions provide enterprise-grade remote access and support for various vendors and consultants to securely assist City IT and non-IT stakeholders on the City network.
DISCUSSION:
The BeyondTrust PRA software continues to perform well in providing necessary access while securing our infrastructure. Our 300 licenses allow us to support the growing demand for non-IT personnel to perform functions on internal assets with secure and auditable access.
The BeyondTrust Remote Support product continues to be an integral part of our remote support solution with respect to access, control and troubleshooting devices, including computers and servers.
In 2026, BeyondTrust is upgrading its PRA platform to comply with CJIS and FIPS, which is critical for the City. This product evolution requires us to transition to the new platform and for convenience, we are combining our two procurements into a single, co-termed purchase. This procurement renews the Remote Support product for a full year and the PRA product for an additional seven months.
Staff has identified an approved cooperative contract, 230105 - TIPS XITS - 230105 - Technology Solutions, Products, and Services (Expires May 31, 2028), through Xerox IT Solutions, for the procurement of the Beyond Trust Privileged Remote Access and Remote Support license renewals.
The term of this award is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
